Color doesn't last

Within 4 weeks of owning the watch, the brown color is rubbing off the bottom of the watch band. It looks worn and bad. Very disappointed considering how much I spent. I tried to take the watch back to a local Michael Kors store and they refused to address the issue stating that I had to go back through Amazon with my complaint. It shouldn't matter what channel I bought a watch through, if Michael Kors made quality merchandise, they would sand behind it.
